Gemma Stanley is a multi award-winning West Midlands based artist and jeweller who graduated in BA (Hons) Jewellery Design & Related Products from Birmingham’s School of Jewellery in 2018. She has a wide range of experience in contemporary jewellery making and alternative materials which are used in both personal collections and bespoke commission work.
Her work often derives themes of identity and plays on the stereotype of value, which is often influenced by her environment. She is inspired by the relationship between urban and surroundings within Britain, as well as the ongoing and growing connections people have with sentimentality and nostalgia.
Gemma prides herself on individuality, giving each handmade item unique qualities, this also correlates with her passion for sustainability; creating minimal waste and using conscious ways to produce wearable pieces that last, progressing towards a more ethical future.
She is happy to work to specific requirements, so if you’re interested in a personal, distinctive one-off piece, please do get in touch.
